How to read resistor color codes: each colored band is a digit (black 0, brown 1, red 2, orange 3, yellow 4, green 5, blue 6, violet 7, grey 8, white 9). On a 4-band resistor the first two bands are digits, the third is the multiplier (power of ten; gold ×0.1, silver ×0.01) and the fourth is the tolerance. On a 5-band resistor the first three bands are digits, the fourth is the multiplier and the fifth is the tolerance. Switch modes above to convert either way.
